Hiatus until next week...

I am officially going on a hiatus from my P90x workouts until we are settled at my mother-in-law's after the move. That will be April 6th.

I am a few days behind now and realistically it is better to start up again from Day 65 rather than try and play catchup each week.

If I can fit in a run or a Yoga routine here or there I will do that but the actually Days I will just shift by a week or so and then do them in order like I am supposed to.

Not ideal.. but the best thing for me to do now to make sure we get our move done.

Day 64 - Chest Shoulder Triceps

I am few days behind still cause of the time we have been using to move things over to my mother in laws. I wanted to do this routine last night but something I ate (Mexican?) didn't agree with me. I also had a nasty headache.

Anyway I got up at 5 and did this workout. I think this one is great. All the different push up variations really push you hard. And it also focuses more on the triceps than any other workout.

I feel great this morning. Just glad that my headache (and stiff neck) is gone.

I will try to at least catch up on the weight routines and if I can fit in a run again before the weekend to make up for missing Plyometrics.

OK time for my recovery drink!

Day 62 - Legs & Back

This morning I did a quick 20 minute routine using one of the on-demand training videos on Fios. The routine was actually a lot harder than I thought it would be so I at least broke a good sweat. I probably should have stretched a little more before doing it though. I was a little sore when I tried to catch up and do my Legs & Back routine from Week 9.

I did the full Legs & Back Routine and then also did Ab Ripper X for the first time in a few days. I could definitely feel that my abs were out of practice.

Tomorrow, I am going to try to do the first weight routine of Week 10 tomorrow in lieu of Plyometrics. What I might do instead is also run in the morning so I can get the cardio and the weights done in one day. That way I can be okay with missing Kenpo X and be caught up in Week 10. I know its not ideal but with everything going on I guess it is a little unrealistic to think I could keep up with an everyday routine. I am pretty close to finishing so I want to try to be as good as I can.

Okay time for my recovery drink. Too bad that I let the bananas go bad :(

Day 61 - Rest (Playing Catchup)

I am behind getting farther behind because of all the packing we did over the weekend. I definitely got a good workout on Sunday by loading and moving boxes but I know it's not a replacement for the P90x routine. I was going to try to get caught up tonight but we ended up going out to get Josh's Easter Bunny picture. It came out really cute, so I am not going to worry too much about missing the workouts. It will be easier to keep up with a routine once we move.

I am going to try to get up early tomorrow to do my cardio at least and then maybe do the Legs & Back at night.

Day 60 - Yoga X

I have gotten about 2 days behind on my routines cause of the move. I managed to get up early this morning and complete the Yoga X routine. I did about 1 hour of it like I usually do. I still feel 90 minutes of the routine is a little excessive. Especially, if you have things to do.

The first half is the best part anyway and now I am doing 2 push ups in between the Vinyasa and downward dog move which I think is helping to increase my stamina even more.

Okay time for a good breakfast from my wife!

Day 59 - Shoulders & Arms

This routine is great cause it focuses on the muscles that everyone sees. The "glamor" muscles as Tony says.

I tried to up the weights on some of the routines but it had been awhile since I had specifically targets my arms or shoulders in a while, since I had the recovery week.

I was able to do some extra weight on some exercises but some I stayed flat. I tried my best to work with the weights I have but it would be better if I had 25 lb weights for a few of the exercises.

All in all I felt good with the workout.

I also am back into doing my recovery drink which I believe helps reduce the amount of time my muscles feel sore.

Day 58 - Plyometrics (Insanity Fit Test)

I decide to switch in the Fit Test for Insanity instead of Plyometrics today. My friend kept telling me that the Insanity workout is better than P90x. Since I was pressed for time anyway and the Fit Test is only 30 minutes long I figured that would be the best thing to do. That way at least I go some cardio for the day.

If you think it would be easier cause its half as long... you would be wrong. The fit test is tough basically cause it pushes you to do your maximum reps of all of the moves which include lunge jacks and these need to the head moves while in a push ups stance. I was sucking wind after most of the exercises and only have 20 minutes or so I was dripping with sweat. I can't wait to see what the full workouts are like once I cam done with P90x.
